When Specialized unveiled their state-of-the-art wind tunnel at their headquarters in Morgan Hill, Calif., they made it clear that the facility would be a game-changer for their athletes, as well as for their future product development. Since then, Specialized team athletes like Bevan Docherty, current 70.3 world champion Melissa Hauschildt and three-time Ironman world champion Craig Alexander have all taken advantage of the tunnel and the products that come out of it. LAVA senior editor Jay Prasuhn visited the tunnel to watch Alexander dial in his race equipment and position before the Ironman 70.3 World Championship, and Alexander was clear that having a facility like the wind tunnel was a clear advantage heading into what will most likely be his final Kona bid on October 12.
