Ventum bicycles today announces a new program allowing customers to trade in their old bikes for credit towards the purchase of a new Ventum bike.

The buyback program, “Trade Up to a Ventum,” is designed to help those that are ready for an upgrade, but would prefer to spend their time training and racing rather than dealing with the hassle of selling their old bikes.

“Our customers are typically experienced triathletes who own at least one or two other tri bikes before they buy a Ventum,” explains Diaa Nour, co-founder of Ventum. “They come to us when they are ready for an upgrade, so we figured, why not make it easier for them.”

Ventum’s buyback program is powered by The Pro’s Closet, a leader in the triathlon bicycle resale market, based in Boulder, Colorado. Together, Ventum and The Pro’s Closet have tried to make the Trade Up program as hassle-free as possible for customers.

First Ventum collects some basic information about the customer’s old bike(s) via email. Ventum passes this information along to The Pro’s Closet, who evaluates the bikes and determines their value. Ventum then issues the customer a voucher for 110% of the value, which can be applied toward the purchase of any new Ventum bicycle. Finally, Ventum coordinates the delivery of the customer’s new bike as well as the return shipping of their old bike.
