With the goal of taking traditional sports drinks to the next level, TYR has recently announced the launch of TYR Endurance Sport. The new drink is the first of its kind to combine Enzymatically Modified Isoquercitrin (EMIQ), carbohydrate complex and Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) in a flavorful, hydrating formula.
“The current sports drink industry has not seen innovation in over 30 years,” says TYR CEO Matthew DiLorenzo. “Athletes need more than what is being offered by conventional sports drinks.”
TYR Endurance Sport incorporates a superior form of Quercetin called EMIQ, which is 100 percent water soluble and has been shown in pre-clinical studies to be absorbed by the body at higher rates than other forms of Quercetin.
TYR Endurance Sport’s “Carbohydrate Complex” uses multiple gastrointestinal transport mechanisms to deliver more performance without digestive distress. Finally, TYR Endurance Sport contains EGCG, a catechin commonly found in green tea extract that supports human metabolism while also improving the efficiency and absorbtion of other ingredients.
The new product is already being used by Ironman champion TJ Tollakson and four-time Olympic gold medalist Matt Grevers. “TYR Endurance Sport is not to be confused with basic sports drinks that offer hydration but no functional benefits,” says DiLorenzo. “It is strategically built to generate and sustain performance under the most enduring athletic conditions.”
