Mark Allen is well in to his October Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds to the print his upcoming book titled The Art of Competition. The first two thirds of the campaign have gone extremely well. Pledges are now at 74% of his goal! But he will need your help to bring it on home by the end of the month.
The backbone of the book are ninety thought-provoking quotes that are displayed in two-page spreads with incredible images from nature shot by photographer Nick Borelli. In addition, five chapters of text will elaborate on the key themes that are vital to the pursuit of excellence- themes like Change, Fear and dealing with Being Stuck. And, of course there will be a chapter devoted specifically to his journey of transforming the race at the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Hawaii from Competition into Art. In the words of those who saw previews of the book in Kona last week at the Ironman, it is “Stunning”!
The book will be a 10″x10″ hard cover high quality printing and will be available in February 2014. There will also be a signed and numbered Limited Edition version of 600 copies with everything in the main book plus a bonus section where he has given expanded explanations of twenty-four key quotes. These will also be set in two page spreads with photos taken by Mats Allen, his son, by Nico Secunda and a few by Mark himself. The Limited Edition is over 270 pages in length and will come in a box casing.
He has until October 31st to raise the remaining amount necessary to print this incredible book.
