A creamy orange smoothie, reminiscent of the Orange Julius chain’s classic offering. It’s high in protein, refreshing, and not too sweet, so when you’re looking for a post-ride quickie, mix up on of these.
Makes 2 servings
3 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate
1/2 cup milk (your choice of fat content/soy/rice/other)
1/2 cup water
1-2 tablespoons sugar or agave syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 Tbsp pasturized egg white product, or one fresh egg white
1/2 banana, optional
6 regular-sized ice cubes (or until desired consistency)
1. Blend together orange juice concentrate, milk, water, sugar, vanilla, egg white, and banana (if using) for 1 minute.
2. Add ice cubes to blender one at a time, blending after each one until smooth.
