The young Aussie has had an exciting first year as a professional
February 6, 2012
Swift Carbon is excited to announce the signing of rising Australian star Michelle Mitchell. The young Aussie girl has had an exciting first year as a professional.
At the beginning of 2011 Michelle had not even raced a full iron distance event and as 2011 came to a close she had raced 4 not only winning her first Iron Distance title in September at Challenge Barcelona but also placing 2nd in Ironman Western Australia and Challenge Cairns.
Michelle will be riding the Swift Strike 833 XSmall frame for 2012/13 and is firmly focused on acquiring Kona qualification. She will be racing in Ironman Melbourne in March followed by a trip to the USA to race in the 70.3 series.
Michelle had this to say about her new bike. “ From the first ride I could not believe the handling and responsiveness of the Strike. I am a small girl and this bike is unbelievably light and easy to handle. I feel so fast, safe and in control. So many bikes that fit someone my size just don’t have the aero dynamics and the comfort that the Swift provides. I am so excited as the power and speed I am generating on this bike already. The ride on my Swift is like nothing I have experienced on any other bike before. The improvement I have had just in the last two months is amazing.”
The 29 year old will be the first Australian professional triathlete to ride the Swift. She will join Bree Wee, Sergio marques and Joseph Major on the 2012 team.
