Andy will be joining us live from Kona on Thursday, October 10th at 6:15 p.m. EST for a 30-minute chat about the upcoming Ironman World Championship.
Potts, a 19-time Ironman 70.3 winner, 5-time Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon Champion, 5-time Ironman 70.3 California Champion, and 2011 Race to the Toyota Cup Champion, structured his 2013 schedule with his eye on the prize: Kona.
Focusing nearly solely on long-course racing, he tallied three 70.3 victories (California, Eagleman, and Timberman), a dominant win at Ironman Lake Placid to defend his title, and a 4th-place finish at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship. The former Olympian and 2-time USAT Triathlete of the Year is more poised than ever to tackle the hardest test in the sport.
Last year in Kona, Potts earned his 2nd-consecutive First American finish, coming across the line 7th and matching his 2008-best. In 2013, all he sees is the podium.
Ask him how his preparation this year has been different, how his training on the island’s been going, how he hopes to achieve his best finish yet, how his Kestrel 4000’s going to help him get there. We’ll be selecting your questions from the Google+ event page to ask Andy. Please post your question in the event’s comment section prior to the Hangout. See you there!
