No matter how many Ironmans you’ve done, and no matter how diligently you’ve planned, everyone has forgetful moments. Sunscreen? Doh! Goggles? Shoot! Look at any triathlete’s car trunk for proof of the seemingly infinite number of things involved in a full day of triathlon. Even for those who never forget a thing, there are numerous tips and suggestions floating around for what to bring along on the big day.
In his latest video for LAVA, Rock Star Triathlete Academy’s Ben Greenfield reminds you what exactly to put in the various “grab bags” involved in Ironman: Your swim bag, swim to bike bag, bike to run bag, and special needs bags. With clarity (and his characteristic enthusiasm), Ben addresses caffeine, sun preparation, nutrition, gear, and a host of other issues you might not have given much thought to.
So even if you think you’ve got this one nailed, let this video serve as a friendly and fun reminder. And next time someone tries to tell you about the benefits of topical magnesium, you’ll be the one saying “Been there, done that.”
