Great interview with Jan Frodeno in Kona. Asked by Bob Babbitt about his thoughts on potentially joining the the rare air of star triathletes who have won the Hawaii Ironman three times, he said he likes to frame such thoughts as a false brand of pressure that isn’t going to help him get the job done that he needs to get done: Win on Saturday. “It’s a one-day race. I need to look at it like that. You have to race like you stole it,” Frodeno says. “Like you don’t care.”

Frodeno also spoke about friend/training partner/competitor (not to mention 2017 Ironman Zurich champ), Australian Nicholas Kastelein.

“If someone else has to win, I’d love for it to be him,” adding with a smile, Of course, “I’m not going to give it to him.”
