At the 2016 IRONMAN World Championships, it was Daniela Ryf that led the women’s pro field nearly from start to finish. Taking the lead early on the bike, she never looked back and claimed her second World Championship title in a row, opening up a margin of more than 25 minutes over 2nd place breaking a new course record. Mirinda Carfrae ran her way back from a more than 20 minute deficit off the bike to finish 2nd and Heather Jackson became the first American in 10 years to grace the podium in 3rd place.

Take a look through some of the highlights of the women’s pro race.
