Fuji Bikes has signed a sponsorship agreement with British pro triathlete Liz Blatchford. While the Brit has dominated the short-course scene, amassing 22 international victories and more than 30 podium finishes worldwide throughout her 11-year ITU career, she recently transitioned to long-course racing. After claiming titles at Ironman 70.3 Boulder and Ironman 70.3 Cozumel in 2012, Blatchford went on to win her debut Ironman in Cairns in June of this year.
Blatchford has said that she is focused on a successful debut at the Ironman World Championship in Kona this October, and has recently taken on coach Mat Steinmetz, who is credited with helping three-time Ironman world champion Craig Alexander and Ironman world champion Mirinda Carfrae.
This sponsorship announcement coincided with the bike company’s global launch of its next-generation Tri/TT bike, the Norcom Straight, which Blatchford will be riding throughout the rest of the 2013 season.
