Fitness technology startup, Virtero, signed Pro Triathlete Chris Lieto as Training Consultant and Brand Ambassador to Team.
Virtero is launching a Kickstarter campaign to bring to market the first automated, individualized, adaptive training software platform designed specifically for triathletes. The company’s proprietary software generates and adapts goal- driven, customized training plans fine-tuned to an athlete’s specific needs. The addition of Lieto to the team signifies their commitment to offering triathletes a practical training platform that is grounded in proven training methodology to help athletes successfully reach their fitness goals.
“We are committed to bringing a high quality, comprehensive training experience to our athletes, so it was natural for us to include Lieto, one of the smartest, knowledgeable, experienced athletes in triathlon, to the Virtero team,” says triathlete, Virtero founder and CEO Jeff Patrick. “Chris has more than 16 years of training and racing experience at the highest levels of the sport. He’s also quite savvy – he understands how technology adds value to the athlete’s training experience. We’re thrilled to have Chris helping shape the product and evangelize our offering in the triathlon community.”
“I’ve spent years learning what works in training and racing and I’m in a position now where I am open to sharing the secrets of my success.” shared Lieto. “When I decided to partner with Virtero, I spent a great deal of time evaluating the software and the training philosophy. Simply put it’s accurate, effective and about to become a game changer in the triathlon training space.”
The company’s Kickstarter campaign launches on Wednesday, June 11 2014, and Virtero plans to use the Kickstarter funds to complete the product development and recruit athletes for the product beta phase to tune the platform. It plans to release the final product before the end of 2014. Interested backers can learn more about the Kickstarter campaign at www.kickstarter.com/virtero.
