De Soto Sport to Premiere Palm Coolers™ at Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii
Company continues to lead with innovation that benefits athletes.September 12, 2013
In 2004, De Soto Sport took Kona by storm by introducing the Arm Cooler™. Now, De Soto has reinvented it as the Palm Cooler™; the original Arm Cooler™ with palm cooling technology. Palm Coolers are backed by medical research proving a direct correlation between cooling the palms and reducing core body temperature, thus delaying fatigue, and enabling faster recovery time.
“We will have a limited production of Palm Coolers for sale on the Big Island in the two weeks leading up to the race. All indications so far make us believe the limited production will sell out well in advance of race day,” says company founder and inventor of the Palm Cooler, Emilio De Soto.
The Palm Cooler is new version of Arm Cooler with a pocket system that covers nearly the entire hand. The design doubles the amount of fabric into a pocket around the hand where you can insert ice or sponges and blocks sun exposure while reaping the aforementioned benefits. Made of De Soto Skin Cooler™ fabric, it is breathable and dissipates moisture creating a cooling effect.
De Soto Sport is supporting the launch of the Palm Coolers with full page ads in the Triathlete Magazine, Lava Magazine, and on the inside front cover of the 2013 Ironman World Championship Race Program, all of which are printed prior to the annual invasion of triathletes, spectators and media in Kailua-Kona.
