It’s well-known that Trek employs one of the finest paint bays (and custom paint artists) in the bike industry. The Madison, Wisc.-based company just released these shots of the rides that 2009 Kona runner-up Chris Lieto and Hawaii rookies Julie Dibens and Fraser Cartmell will be running next Saturday during the Hawaii Ironman World Championships. Here’s a rundown on each setup.

Fraser Cartmell Custom Speed Concept 9.9; a bike fit for a King

Cartmell trek bike

2010 was a breakthrough year for the Scotsman with 4 major wins in Ironman and Ironman 70.3.  2010 Ironman Champion of the UK, Fraser took a unique approach to training for Ironman by staying in the windy and rainy climate of his hometown of Stirling, Scotland. While most other pro racers do the majority of their training in warmer climates, Fraser showed us that you can train for Ironman anywhere in the world, rain or shine. The Blue and White Scottish flag on his Aeolus 9.0 wheels and Speed Concept 9.9 frameset are testament to his hardened training, and perhaps to the fact that the King of England, at least in Triathlon, is currently a Scotsman.

Dibens kona bike

Former Collegiate Swimmer, Olympian, and Current World Champion in Ironman 70.3 and X-terra, Julie Dibens is the most versatile triathlete in the world.  After winning her second World Championship last year, Julie was dubbed “Not a One Trick Pony,” by her peers. After the second win, Julie reluctantly accepted that there was only one more hurdle to clear; Ironman. With unequaled ability to win at any distance, her Speed Concept is a reminder that she can accomplish anything that she puts her mind to.
