Siri, Team Sirius and Compex have partnered to share a swim workout designed to build strength and stamina. Follow that with a Compex recovery and Compex strength building workout:
The purpose of this workout is not to use the paddles to make you swim faster, they are used to make these hard 50s even harder. Paddles enable you to pull more water with each stroke. Use a strong kick to get your heart rate up and go for flat out effort with great power in every stroke. Some swimmers may notice that the lats may get sore depending on the swimmer’s technique.
|Warm Up||400 Easy Freestyle4×100 Build to a fast pace for each 25 on 15 seconds rest|
|Main Set||20×50 Paddles only and concentrate on technique @10sec rest|
|20×50 FAST On 1:00 (paddles only) or at least 15-20sec rest after each 50.|
|800 Swim steady focus on good technique and feeling strong and rhythmic. With just a steady effort you will find you swim quite well and feel quite strong from the strength/speed set.|
|Warm Down||400 Kick/Swim (50 kick 50 swim)|
|Post Workout||Compex Active Recovery 1 cycle|
|Strength Workout||Compex Resistant Program Level Three performed 3 x per week to build strength and intermediate fast twitch muscle fibers.|
The Compex Muscle Stimulator’s electrical impulses reproduce the natural process of voluntarily contracting muscle. When these impulses bathe the motor nerves, the muscle responds with a deeper more complete contraction. A muscle cannot tell the difference between the signal for a voluntary contraction-one triggered by the brain- and the signal generated by electrostimulation.
The results are:
- more efficient workout regime
- less risk of injury to joints and tendons
- minimized cardiovascular fatigue
The Benefits of the Compex Muscle Stimulator include:
- Improve strength, endurance, speed and power-quickly
- Tone muscle
- Recruit more muscle with each contraction
- Customize workouts for an individual’s needs
- Thoroughly warm-up
- Recover faster
